Location:
This year, the 5K and fun run will start and end in downtown Salem! The races will happen on Sunday, September 21, two weekends before the Salem Apple Butter Festival. Note that the Festival Car Show will be held nearby on the same day. Registration opens at the Salem depot in Salem at 1:00P.M.. The starting/finish line will be nearby. Both races start at 2:00P.M.. Parking is available at the depot. No shuttle service will be required for participants. Both races will begin on the Rail-Trail and head west for 3/4 of a mile. Fun runners will turn around at that point and return to the starting line. 5K participants will turn off of the Rail-Trail, cross Main St., and take K.D. Hurley Rd. toward Salem University. A fitness trail will take participants around Salem University and back to K.D. Hurley Rd. They will then retrace the route back to the starting line

Registration and Cost:
$20.00 per person if paid by Monday, September 1. $25.00 after September 1. Participants are encouraged to register early to take advantage of the reduced fee. Early registration forms and fee must be received by Monday, September 1. Registrations will be accepted on the day of the run until 2:00 P.M.
Anyone is invited to participate in the 5K. Fun run categories will be for anyone over 60, under 13, wearing a costume, pushing a stroller, or accompanied by a dog on a leash.


Prizes and Awards:
Over $500 in prizes will be raffled to all participants!
For the 5K, medals will be awarded to the top 3 male & female overall finishers and to the first-place female and male finisher in each age group. The age groups will be:  13-19  |  20-29  |  30-39  |  40-49  |  50-59  |  60+  | Only one medal will be awarded per winner.
Restrooms, water and refreshments are provided at the starting line.  Walkers are Welcome!
